I've decided to do a music meme that I've been seeing all over the web. Goes like this:
List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now, shaping your spring summer. Post these instructions in your blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they're listening to.(Volunteers only)

64 days until football season ...
Quote of the Day
I drew that glass across his neck
As fine as any blade
And I felt his blood pour fast and hot
Around me where I laid
Caleb Meyer, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings
Blog of the day here.
Quote from said blog: "I spent the last four days doing a little housework, but mostly resting and taking DayQuil and NyQuil (the Nectar of the Gods) and recuperating."
- 2) Friday I'm in Love - The Cure - The trailer for He's Just Not That Into You is responsible for this.
- 3) My Sweet Annette - Drive-By Truckers - It came with my iTunes program. Kind of infectious tune but also a little dark.
- 4) Lightning Crashes - Live - No particular reason
- 5) Straight Shootin' Woman - Steppenwolf - No particular reason
- 6) Sad Lisa - Cat Stevens - Also kinda dark but one of my very favorite songs
- 7) Breathe Me - Sia - Another rather dark song. Detect a pattern? This one closed out Six Feet Under. Contrast it to The Sopranos Don't Stop Believing. Six Feet Under got it right. The Sopranos ... didn't. Anyway, I love the song and the haunting piano.

Unlike most people I really like spiders and find them fascinating. Any bug in the house except a spider gets swatted. Spiders I'll carefully shoo out. I even looked into getting a tarantula as a pet once until my roommate at the time - a 6'2" weightlifter - told me he was terrified of spiders and didn't want it in the house.
K-
I have a new appreciation for spiders since I moved to the country, Kem. You have to forge a co-existence with them out here. There are entirely too many to do anything else. Besides, they're fascinating.
That video of Caleb and Gillian is AWESOME! Thank you - I love learning about new, good music.
You're quite welcome, Margi. Search some of their performances on YouTube for more treats.

They sound incredible in spite of the amateur recording.
