The LSU Tigers' win over Washington in Seattle a few weeks ago looks a whole lot better now that USC couldn't do the same.
The Tigers are ranked 7th this morning. Fortunately or not, three of the six teams ahead of them are on their schedule later this year, road games at #3 Alabama and #4 Ole Miss and a home game with #1 Florida still to come. They're not ready for any of those teams yet.
I have two 2-0 fantasy football teams for the first time ever, my entry in the Signs of the Apocalypse Sweepstakes.
The Eagles had quite a bit of success in their Wildcat offense yesterday but I think the use of it displays a lack of confidence in the quarterback more than it shows any offensive creativity. In New Orleans, Drew Brees hands off and throws better than any of the running backs and wide receivers on his team so I'd prefer they keep the Wildcat on the shelf. It's a cute gimmick, though. The QOTD tends to agree with me, I think.
On to Buffalo and the Bills' no-huddle offense. As gimmicky offenses go, I like the no-huddle the best but I'm still not wild about them. Up-tempo-get-up-to-the-line quickly and no-huddle when you catch the defense in a favorable personnel group or making massive substitutions is good stuff but using it for the majority of the game doesn't appeal to me. Wears out both teams about equally.
Quote of the Day
Garcia must be the type who would prefer a boring old win to a brilliant, innovative loss. Some people just don't get it.

Quote from said blog: "There used to be a time that you could rely on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' defense to be this all-consuming, blitzing machine."

The Vikes tried one wildcat play yesterday that didn't get much. Like you, I'm a bit skeptical about using it in my home team's scheme.
The Gophers got a little reality check from California this weekend, though they did come back and try to make a game of it. They aren't in with the elites, but I think they will be fun to watch and may be able to notch an upset or two this year.
Favre did what I expected him to and no issue from me. Enjoy the 2-0 starts and thanks for the trackback.
I saw part of that Minnesota-California game. Fun game. Beautiful stadium.
With guys like Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin on the team, the Wildcat is almost irresistible but I'd still resist. Let Brett throw the ball or hand off and let those guys do what they do best.
