Anyone else think Tiger Woods one car accident is much ado about nothing? If the police have already determined that alcohol wasn't involved, then what else is there to investigate? I doubt he meant to hit a fire hydrant or a tree so why not just call it an accident? Why not give him the benefit of whatever doubt there may be? Has he been a troublemaker in the past? Let his insurance cover the relatively minor damages and move on. Why waste time on this? It may be embarrassing to him but it surely seems to be nothing otherwise unless embarrassing Tiger Woods is your thing.
LSU got themselves a nice win over Arkansas yesterday in overtime. The Hogs have been tough on the Tigers the last two years. The game still doesn't have the arch-rival feel to it but it's getting there. The games have always been close and exciting. The win gets them to 9-3 and that, coupled with their large, devout, and heavy-spending following, assures them of a prominent bowl game ... probably against Penn State or Iowa in the Capitol One Bowl.
Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith are semifinalists for NFL Hall-of-Fame induction. It is a mere formality. I'd be surprised if Rice isn't a unanimous selection and would remove the vote from anyone who didn't have him on their ballot. It would be that ludicrous. The Saints used to be in the same division with Rice's 49ers and I was a season ticket holder then. I saw him first hand every year for the duration of his stay in San Francisco. The Saints played him better than most teams but he was still unstoppable. He redefined his position. I will describe him this way: He made touchdowns. Smith was a great player on a great team in Dallas. He deserves to go in with Rice but I'd be hesitant to vote anyone else in with those two.
Plumbing problems made for a really bad day yesterday that is still kinda lingering over me ruining a perfectly decent weekend. Could not have come at a worse time and it kept me up most of the night. I hate it when this happens. I offer one from the repair area this afternoon. Just below the cracked stepping stone lies the new plumbing. It was at such an angle at such a time in the afternoon in such a tight spot that I decided to let a professional do it.

My professional life is good and in turn my personal life is good. My wife loves me no matter what, so I think I will be OK.

I'll redo the pipes under a sink or run a snake, but that's where I draw the line. Anything more complicated and important than that and I'll call a pro.
I haven't thought about it much, but I wouldn't be averse to seeing Carter and Brown get in. Neither are in Rice's league, nobody is in the modern era at least, but they are right behind him in quite a few stats.
First, I'm easily the world's worst plumber. I fixed this pipe once before although it had a slight drip even then. It's the PVC pipe that runs from the well to the house. I thought it would close up over time and I think it probably did but the ground may have shifted in the last 15 years since I fixed it the first time or maybe the guys who installed the new well changed the angle. It opened up and there was water everywhere. I just couldn't get it right, couldn't stay in position long enough to get it done (Back and knees just not up to awkward positions for long), and it was starting to get dark. It was an expense I just didn't need right now.
Sorry for your plumbing trouble. Major plumbing problems are worse than your car breaking down on the highway and a toothache at the same time.
Thanks, Marie. :) I don't know if I'd go that far but it was pretty discouraging.
I read your comment reply, above, and can empathize. I have a project going on in the loft of the garage that requires bending and holding odd body angles for extended periods -- I haven't been back at it since Thanksgiving, but it was killing me then. Tonight I hope to complete it. (My knees feel a bit better than they did week ago... I'm hoping that makes it go a bit easier.)
