The New Yorker gives me reviews of the two movies I want to see most this week, Avatar 3D and Sherlock Holmes, and also a rather funny cartoon that has some relevance at CrabAppleLane. My wife hates sporks. It is a running joke here because just about every takeout meal I pickup includes them.
From Tim Cowlishaw of the Dallas Morning News:
The Cowboys did more than remove December doubts while raising red flags about New Orleans. They established that they will be the only team in the NFC playoffs - if they get there - that knows it can win in New Orleans or Minnesota.
Got all that from a single 7pt win, did ya? Just last week, you were calling for the head coach's job. All of the 13 previous weeks' ups and downs that team endured is now erased? The five losses and some of their fairly weak wins told you nothing? The Cowboys played their best game of the season and the Saints played one of their worst. There will be adjustments made. All of the potential playoff teams in the NFC have issues, including the Cowboys (The biggest issue they have at the moment is that they may not even make the playoffs). When healthy, I think the Saints have the fewest. It was a good win for the Cowboys but it is just one. There's more football to be played.

Quote of the Day
There used to be a little school here
Where I learned to write my name
But time has been a little cruel here
Time has no shame

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "One of my favorite Okkervil River songs, I always save "Listening To Otis Redding At Home During Christmas" for December, as Will Sheff so perfectly captures the emotional undercurrent of the season. Melancholic? Yes. Smart? Indeed."

I really want to see both those movies too; I'll be back for your reviews!
Now, if I can get myself into gear I'm going to participate in Everydaystranger's Around the World in 80 blogs!
Have a wonderful Christmas tomorrow Rob and Patsy :)
Day after tomorrow for us, Fi, but same to you. :)
