CrabAppleLane Sunday - First of 2010

The Saints are in Charlotte today for a game that means absolutely nothing. The Panthers will try to win but I don't know why. Maybe to lower their draft position and save the owner a little money? The Saints will try to win with mostly second, third, and fourth stringers on the field. Both teams will say lots of silly things about how much the game means. Saints fans are more concerned about who their first playoff opponent will be and the team probably will have advance scouts at the Packers-Cardinals game, the Eagles-Cowboys game, and the Vikings-Giants game. The Eagles, Cowboys, and Vikings figure to be playing hard. Not so sure about the Packers and Cardinals, though. If the Vikings beat the Giants in the early game as expected, the Packers and Cardinals will know they'll be playing each other in the playoffs next week. Why play hard or show anything this week? One other thing:

GEAUX Saints

I offer one today that was taken on yesterday afternoon's bike ride.

Pulp Fiction was on the Independent Film Channel last night and I found myself watching it while Patsy was doing something on her laptop. I love that movie. Dusty Springfield's Son of a Preacher Man is on the soundtrack. As soon as it came on, Patsy sang right along with it. I don't think she could resist if she had to. I wish we had gotten to see Dusty live in concert. She's one of our faves.

5 song iTune shuffle:

  1. Son Of A Preacher Man 2:28 Dusty Springfield Pulp Fiction Soundtrack
  2. Crazy Train 4:56 Ozzy Osbourne Blizzard Of Ozz
  3. Terminal Frost 6:17 Pink Floyd A Momentary Lapse Of Reason
  4. Rock Is Dead 3:10 Marilyn Manson Mechanical Animals
  5. Tvc15 5:34 David Bowie Station To Station [Bonus Tracks]
Quote of the Day
Being good isn't always easy
No matter how hard I tried
When he started sweet talking to me
He'd come and tell me everything is alright
He'd kiss and tell me everything is alright
Can I get away again tonight?
Dusty Springfield, Son of a Preacher Man

The weather looks pretty good where you are. Water has given up trying to flow since Saturday -- we're not supposed to get above freezing for about nine more days.

Happy New Year Rob!

We had Dirty Dancing on last night and I'm not ashamed to say I knew all the songs and most of the dialogue! I can't begin to think how many times I've seen it...

Temperatures are mild here, just a nice 24C (that's 75 F to you folks over there :))
