I'll get out in the yard today to make mental notes about what I need to do, what I would like to do, and what I can do. In other words, procrastinating. I have rather simple goals for spring-summer-fall 2010: Further The Clearing Project along, plant a spring tomato garden, and work on making the yard lower maintenance. Progress on the Clearing Project will be done in small increments in my spare time. There is no hurry and I have no exact plan other than to make a space. The spring tomato garden is three or four weeks away. I'll have fewer bushes this season and I plan to take better and longer care of them. I had too many last year, they were too close together, and I kinda got lazy on their routine maintenance late in the season. As for the rest of the yard, the plan is to make it lower maintenance across the board by planting permanent shrubs and trees in areas where I usually plant something annually and making more of the yard accessible to maintenance by the tractor rather than the push mower or weed whacker. Quite a bit extra work this year in order to make a little less work for myself in coming years. The irony is not lost on me. Not a big fan of irony.

Quote of the Day
I dreamed I saw on a moonlit stair
Spreading his hands on the multitude there
A man who cried for a love gone stale
And ice cold hearts of charity bare
Queen, The Prophet's Song
Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "I have this "distant view" playing the piano in a garden...just me and the piano and the plants and the morning sun, and the mist....and the music...."

Well, other people's irony is generally okay. ;)
Well, yeah. :-)
