Tomatoes are starting to wind down here. They're not getting as big this year as previous years but I'm thinking that's due to the extra hot weather this season. Size has no bearing on flavor and size never concerns me anyway. I may take a picture of them occasionally but I don't grow them to look at them. I grow them to eat them and these are delicious. Another quirk of this growing season is that I've lost very few to rot and I haven't lost any at all to worms. I always lose a few, sometimes quite a few, to worms. I have fewer bushes this season but I'm still picking considerably more than we can eat. I gave away several dozen over the weekend. Most of the ones pictured below were picked last night. Bon Appetit.

The Blue Dog is fairly famous in New Orleans but not so famous elsewhere that two stolen paintings will attract a large price from a collector that won't mind that they were stolen. This guy, who doesn't much resemble Alexander Mundy, probably wanted them for himself. I'm guessing he'll be caught and the paintings will be recovered.

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "Last night I was out in the gardens and this blinding golden orb suddenly appeared in the sky. I thought maybe it was the end of days, but H calmly reminded me that’s what the sun looks like."

Never heard of the Blue Dog, but then I'm sure there are a number local New Orleans things I don't know. That thief was pretty bold about it, wasn't he?
I like art, Dave, but know nothing about it. My friend, Kim at Kim's Place, mentioned that she likes the Blue Dog once and I've been seeing it everywhere here since. That's how I know about it. I'm thinking the thief didn't know he was on camera but, yes, he was pretty bold.
Beeeautiful! Those have to taste good. Mine are lanky and it looks like I'll get three of them, total which is sad considering the haul I used to get when I had the "real" garden :)
We'll see if we can remedy that. :)
Those tomatoes look delicious, hope they were!
Can't believe it's the middle of the year already...
