Just nothing really - Part 87195976198574

Starting to make a rather daunting to do list. The house we moved into 15 years ago brand new and sparkly is starting to turn into a fixer-upper. That it happened as fast as it did is a little discouraging. If only it could get done quickly like it's done in the movies, where time, energy, and money are unlimited ... and they have that cool time lapse thing.

Super Bowl on a Saturday night? No problem here but I imagine every hot Saturday nightspot in the world and even some of the not so hot ones would be pretty pissed off about it. Saturday evening and Saturday night is the most important business time for just about every restaurant, bar, club, movie theater, department store, shopping center, grocery store, and countless other merchants. The NFL has it right. Sunday is the best day to play it.

A new postal experiment gets underway today from CrabAppleLane. Have no idea what to expect. More details later in the week ...

Today's QOTD is about Saints Head Coach Sean Payton's book that is scheduled to be released tomorrow. I'll read it some day but not soon. The memories are still fresh and I'm not quite ready to contaminate them with truth.

73 days until football season ...

5 song iTune shuffle from the CrabAppleLane Five Star playlist starting with "S" :

  1. Supernaut - Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath Volume 4 (Remaster)
  2. Somebody To Roll - Nazareth - Play 'N' The Game
  3. Space Station #5 - Montrose - Montrose
  4. Star Spangled Banner - Dixie Chicks - Super Bowl XXXVII
  5. The Spirit Of Radio - Rush - Permanent Waves
Quote of the Day
That's not to say that Payton's Super Bowl memoir, "Home Team: Coaching the Saints and New Orleans Back to Life" (NAL Hardcover, $24.95), is any kind of literary classic. But for Saints fans, its 295 pages amount to heaven in hardcover, an inside-the-locker room, on-the-team-bus and backstage-with-Kenny-Chesney ride through the greatest season in Who Dat history.

Blog of the day is here.

Quote from said blog: "Summer in New Orleans doesn’t mean you can’t get your roll on though - you just gotta do that ish at night when the sun goes down. You’ll still sweat but you won’t stroke out."

I'm pretty sure this tags me as an old fart, but I would love to see the Super Bowl move to Saturday night. It would be a hugely fan friendly thing to do in my book. No worries about school or work(for most) the next day, though the later services might be a little packed the next morning. I would love it, therefore it will never happen in a million years.

Going postal, eh? Not sure I like the sound of that. :)

I'd love to see the poll numbers.

We've been working to get my wife's place ready for sale. We'd hoped to have it on the market by now... but, the paperwork we need for immigration is taking longer than we'd thought (we were rather naive and thought things in the real world moved at the pace they did on TV). Anyway, with this new-found extra time we've decided to do some additional work ... isn't there a saying that goes something like, "the size of a job grows to fill the amount of time allotted to it?"
