A beginner's guide to the vuvuzela. They're irritating but they're also starting to grow on me. I do not favor banning them at the World Cup. One comment at the linked piece said it for me: "Gone those great chants like "the referee's a wanker" Viva Vuvezela! Get used to it". South Africa is the host and they bring vuvuzelas to the matches. Deal with it. The vuvuzelas are not ruining the World Cup. To be honest, they're not saving it for many of us, either. :) If I watch another match on TV, I'll turn the sound up and down as necessary. For those of you actually at the match, Drew and Baylen Brees have the solution: Noise-canceling headphones.
The Saints got Pierre Thomas signed yesterday but there's still work to be done on a long-term deal. I don't think they're as far apart as their postures indicate or nearly as far apart as the pundits are saying. The Saints got him dirt cheap three years ago as a rookie free agent but he'd also not be the player he is today if they hadn't taken a chance on him. I think the two sides will work it out.

Someone please stop the horns! I tried to give the World Cup a chance, but I'd even turn off the Superbowl if there was the same annoying background noise.
