There's an executive or two just begging for a stupidectomy. In some parts of the country, if you walked into a bar and asked, "Who owns that Chevrolet pickup outside?", you might get your butt kicked.
Bit of an overreaction, I think. There are times when the proper name should be used and, undoubtedly, someone used "Chevy" on a document or in a meeting where they should have used "Chevrolet" and some executive tight ass got torqued up about it. It looks like someone above him reined him in, though. :) Good.
Yeah, I can see it happening that way inside Chevrolet. It's pretty clueless to not understand how common "Chevy" is out among the customers though.
It was clueless in every sense of that word.
