When I first downloaded iTunes, My Sweet Annette by the Drive By Truckers was part of the sample song package. That was my introduction to them. There are a lot of fan videos on YouTube but most of them are pretty awful recordings of live shows. Below is the Drive By Truckers on Halloween Night some years ago. I guess it would be described as a music video of a live performance. It's really good, though. Enjoy.
D’Brickashaw Ferguson got himself a nice, fat contract from the Jets. In last year's Jets-Saints game, rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez dropped back to pass in his own end zone. Not only did he hold on to the ball too long, he held it away from his body down low by his hip. Tim Tebow does that, too. I digress. Ferguson was trying to block Will Smith on the play when Smith saw where Sanchez was holding the ball. He didn't have a chance.

Who will end up with my records?
Who will end up with my tapes?
Who's gonna pay my credit card bill?
Who's gonna pay for my mistakes?

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "Repair has been superseded by a newer model called Replace. Still, some of us look back warmly on the days of being able to buy every part down to the last washer and micro-gasket individually wrapped in tissue paper; of being up to our elbows in grease; of squeezing our arms down small, hot gaps and singeing skin; of shredding knuckles to the bone when that bolt that just won't move suddenly ... "Aaaargh!""
Small price to pay if you actually broke the bolt loose. If all you did was strip the head ... -Rob

The BOTD made me chuckle at my own rose colored glasses on that topic. I used to be one of those who complained about how you can't work on cars anymore. Then I stepped back and really remembered the old cars of my youth that I was able to fix myself. They were all junk compared to vehicles today. No matter what they actually were, I called them all FORD, for Fix Or Repair Daily.
I used to change my own oil and perform some repairs and maintenance on our vehicles, Dave, but I don't touch them any more other than to add fluids, air to the tires, or change the wiper blades. Today's cars/trucks are much more complex but I could probably still do most of the repairs and maintenance that I used to do. I could still replace a fan belt, a power steering hose, or a headlight. I just don't.
Well, I'll only work on a car now out of necessity or to try to impress a woman. Success in either circumstance is dicier now than it used to be.
Ahh, to "impress a woman". I did that once. :)
My sister-in-law's Ford LTD wouldn't start and she called me to come give her a jump. She had been driving all day. Having had Ford LTDs, myself, I knew something about them. When the engine gets hot on them, the starter gets hot just being next to it. When their starters get older, the heat makes them expand more and that makes them drag. I got there about 20 minutes after her last attempt and told her everything has probably cooled down some and it should start now. She got in and it started right up. I think that was 1983 and the last time my car knowledge impressed anyone. :)
Having been raised by an auto mechanic, I used to know a few car repair tricks, myself. These days, I don't even look under the hood of a car. Plus, sixteen year old girl with grease on her face = cute. 53 year old woman with grease on her face = demented. *snort*
If my 53 year old woman can fix my car, grease on her face = sexy. :)
