Because the Saints have road trips to both Dallas and Cincinnati this season and because both teams were in the playoffs last season, I decided to watch the early part of the Hall of Fame game. Mistake. I wasn't 5 minutes into that dull game last night before I was bored with the Terrell Owens talk. The Bengals have a very volatile locker room mix up there in Cincinnati. As long as that team is doing well, there will be no problem. If things start going badly and I expect they will, the reporters covering the team will start bouncing quotes from Owens to Chad Ochocinco to Carson Palmer to Marvin Lewis to Cedric Benson until they get something juicy and I'd bet almost anything that they'll get it.
Last year, the Bengals had a pretty good defense and a pretty good running game on offense. They had problems in their passing game and it looks like they addressed it by adding two problem children (Terrell Owens and Antonio Bryant) to the one they already had (Chad Ochocinco). They still have the statuesque quarterback (Carson Palmer) who doesn't get rid of the ball very fast and the offensive line that can't pass protect without drawing penalties.
The Cowboys were a little more difficult to gauge in the short time that I watched but nothing I saw last night gave me any indication that we'll have a Cowboys-Bengals Super Bowl in February.
Basically, I don't know any more about those two teams this morning than I did last week. :)
The Saints have a celebration with the President at the White House today. Let's try to get this out of the way a little earlier next year, guys. :)

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "Yes, it would have been nice to have points. For me, if you're going to evaluate a team, then maybe scoring a few points would be nice towards that evaluation. Is it critical right now? Not really. The points will come. The team will adjust. Keep what worked, ditch what didn't. Put players in different situations."

The president is in Austin today for lunch. Tight schedule.
Amazing, isn't it, Kim? As prestigious and historical as that job is, I have no idea why anyone signs up for it. If there was an equivalent in the private sector and there absolutely is NOT, it would probably be worth $25 billion per year. The President gets a fraction of that.
