Maybe - Maybe Not

Brett Favre, of course. Not buying it just yet. It's too early and we've been down this road before.

About today's QOTD: The story has drawn a ton of comments at MSNBC. Some of them are the "What were they doing in the water?" variety but most of them thankfully got the gravity of the tragedy to those families.

Headline offered ... without comment:

Ed Wang injured his hand, not his leg

Quote of the Day
None of us could swim. They were yelling 'help me, help me. Somebody please help me.' It was nothing I could do but watch them drown one by one.
Marilyn Robinson

Blog of the day is here.

Quote from said blog: "Now that you have the phosphorus mixture, the next step is to prepare the cardboard for the matches. Dissolve a pound of potassium nitrate in a pound of water, stir in a little saffron to add color, and dip the cardboard in this solution."

I guess I'd have thought there must be a recipe for matches I'd really given it any thought. Thought it pretty cool that someone has one. -Rob

Gut-wrenching story about those kids. I love to fish rivers, but you'll never see me choose to swim in one.
