LSU-Auburn

ALL eyes here on LSU-Auburn this afternoon. This has turned into a pretty good SEC rivalry. The Tigers of LSU have talent out the wazoo at every position except quarterback. They've been very inconsistent there. The Tigers/Plainsmen/War Eagles of Auburn have talent out the wazoo at quarterback in Heisman favorite, Cam Newton, but I think they're suspect everywhere else. If LSU completes enough passes to keep the Auburn defense honest, they'll have the edge. If they can't and they get behind by more than one score, the edge swings to Auburn. I don't think Newton is going to have his way with the LSU defense the way he did with the Arkansas defense last week. If Arkansas quarterback, Ryan Mallett, hadn't gotten hurt last week, that game might have ended up in a 105-105 tie. There was no defense on the field at all.

About today's BOTD: I have never heard The Corn Dog Story. I'm thinking it's a little too clever to come from Auburn, though. They probably got it from Vanderbilt. :) And for what it's worth, there's not an ounce of truth to it. Corn dogs are county fair food. Louisiana doesn't have counties. We have parishes. :)

Finally, congratulations to the

TEXAS RANGERS

On their way to their first ever World Series.

Milk, cream, and alcohol, alcohol
My doctor put me a description, wrote me a prescription
Johnny, get milk, cream, and alcohol, alcohol, alcohol

Blog of the day is here.

Quote from said blog: "I think this may be why a lot of fans get beaten up by LSU fans. If you attend a game in Baton Rouge, try to avoid telling them that they smell like corn dogs. Say something else instead. Like, "Wow, LSU sure does have a great team this year. This is going to be a great SEC game.""

Haha...ouch.

A tip of the cap to the Rangers from me also. I might actually watch the World Series now.
