Marie alerted me to the story of Island Girl this morning. Quite an amazing story and I think it's a real treat that she was spotted on the Illinois Capitol. The tracking map shows a quite amazing journey. If you click on any one of the dates it will show you the coordinates and time of where she was at that moment. UTC time is 5 hours ahead of me here (CDT). You can just copy&paste the coordinates into a Google window and a map will come up showing you where she was if you're not familiar with coordinates. Cool stuff. GEAUX Island Girl.
Terry Francona is one of the good guys in baseball. I suppose it was mutually beneficial for him and the Red Sox to depart the way he did but I think most Sox fans are going to miss him two or three years from now. There is not much difference between the way the Red Sox and Yankees do business any more and that breaks my heart. Francona will land on his feet and he'll get offers to manage again. He was the smallest part of the problem. The Red Sox will have to blow that team up and clean house if they want to avoid seasons like this past one and that's fairly easy to do in Major League Baseball, especially in a place like Boston. All one needs do is open the checkbook.
LSU is off to a slow start against Kentucky this morning. It's 7-0 Tigers at the end of the first quarter. They're favored by 27½. Not watching it. Just kinda following along on the internet while I procrastinate from doing way overdue yardwork.
In today's QOTD, Rob Ryan is stating that the Dallas Cowboys receivers are better than the Lions' Calvin Johnson. Not true but nice of him to say.
Entries here from September 3 through September 16 and all of their comments are being restored slowly but surely. 19 entries total. Invest in ibuprofen.

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "These are the 10 best movies in which Reese Witherspoon, Renee Zellweger, Sandra Bullock or Holly Hunter appear."
Not true. The Man in the Moon, her first, was the best movie Reese Witherspoon ever did.
