Quote of the Day
Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.
President Franklin D Roosevelt - December 8, 1941
Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "Annotated Draft of "Day of Infamy" Speech: Joint Address to Congress Leading to a Declaration of War Against Japan by Franklin D. Roosevelt, December 8, 1941; Papers as President, Master Speech File; Franklin D. Roosevelt Library (NLFDR); National Archives and Records Administration"
Amazing document. So glad someone saved it. -Rob

That is an interesting document, to see how the language was ramped up after the first draft.
Thanks for posting those reminders of the day, Rob.
It's interesting to me to learn this, Dave. Language and reaction was ramped up after December 7. What I've read and believe to be true about 911 is that the anger and reaction was tamped down. Both reactions were right in my view.
It's a somber anniversary for me, Dan. All of the WWII vets I knew are gone.
