Kristen Wiig signed off of Saturday Night Live last night. I liked her OK but she had pretty much taken over the show and I won't miss that. She was in almost every skit and some of her characters were not in the least bit funny. Last night's show was the first time I ever thought the Lawrence Welk skit was funny. FWIW, I always turn SNL off after Weekend Update.
Not really like me to go all Jack Nicholson on someone but I'm glad you're dead. You should have died in prison surrounded by walls and bars, though, not in your own bed surrounded by family.
I offer one from the CrabAppleLane front yard on this beautiful Sunday.

Today's QOTD offers a rather sobering view of Facebook. It's spot on.
108 days until football season ...

Quote of the Day
If you can picture a party that's secretly a corporate focus group, you've got a pretty good idea of what Facebook is. It may seem strange to you that a product that's free to users could also be worth nearly $100 billion, but it's important to remember that Facebook isn't free: You're selling your time, attention and ideas to corporations every time you log on.

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "Today, with music services on Facebook, there's a new way to listen with friends. This feature lets you listen along with any of your friends who are currently listening to music. You can also listen together in a group while one of your friends plays DJ."

I think it's perfectly fine to go all Jack Nicholson on that one. Even Miss Manners would probably grant dispensations to us.
The tree looks pretty. You've probably told me before, but which one is that?
It's called a "Vitex", Dave.

I keep trying to call it a lilac, though. This one is about 10 feet tall and probably another 10 feet in diameter.
