Happy Flag Day
Congrats to Matt Cain on a fabulous accomplishment. The QOTD has me remembering my youth looking in our morning newspaper at incomplete West Coast box scores. They would go to press then before the West Coast games were over.
What kind of sport is cycling? Officials are so convinced Lance Armstrong has been doping that they will test and test and test until they get the results they want or worse, they'll find anonymous witnesses to come forward out of the woodwork long after the fact and go forward with just those accusations. Enough with the persecution already.
Two minutes, 27 seconds of why Saints fans stand by their team. Always. Good on you, Joe.

Quote of the Day
For now, we'll watch more baseball and be sure to check out those West Coast box scores.

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "Armstrong maintained his innocence in a statement released on his website.
"These are the very same charges and the same witnesses that the Justice Department chose not to pursue after a two-year investigation," Armstrong said. "These charges are baseless, motivated by spite and advanced through testimony bought and paid for by promises of anonymity and immunity.""

That Armstrong stuff really is starting to look like persecution. They're not actually going to grant anonymity to witnesses are they? That's kangaroo court material.
If my understanding is correct and that's not a given in this case, it's even worse. They're granting anonymity AND immunity. They get to save their own ass by selling someone else out and they don't even have to stand up for it. I just don't think this was the intent of witness protection or whistleblower laws.
