Finally saw the original La Femme Nikita. A mini-rant is first up today, though. Film snobs, like Roger Ebert, lament that today's film goers avoid subtitled films like the plague. They are right when they say dubbed films suck. The dubbing is entirely too distracting. Subtitles are the preference here. That said, filmmakers or film distributors or whoever is responsible for the subtitles could do a much better job of it. They distract a little no matter what but placing them somewhere in a scene where they can't be read at all because they blend in with the scenery is annoying as all hell. Rant over. I saw the Bridget Fonda American version of this some years ago. That film lost its way toward the end. This original French film does, too. Anne Parillaud is excellent but the ending of the film just makes no sense. The early parts are fun, though.
Seems to me the American League roster is loaded. As usual.
Ate at the Olive Garden last night for the first time ever. Pretty good and very reasonable. I could do that again.
Upgraded and re-opened the CrabAppleLane Forum today to new user registration. Bogus registrations were wearing me out. It was closed to new registration for over a year. It was opened for all of 30 minutes today and five bogus registrations got through. I think I may have them beat now, though. I know. Famous last words. Just trying to kickstart some sports talk. ALL readers here are invited, of course.
About today's QOTD: Defiance is one thing. This is something else. I am so sick of politics.
About today's BOTD: There appears to be a slight difference between the movie version of La Femme Nikita and the television series version. In the television version, the quote says she is "falsely accused of manslaughter". In the original movie version, she is a coldblooded murderer.
66 days until football season ...
I offer one from the CrabAppleLane Backyard. Birds are starting to warm to the new feeder. Knew it was only a matter of time.

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "Nikita (Peta Wilson) is falsely accused of manslaughter and sentenced to life in prison. Soon thereafter, the government fakes her death and she is transformed into an expertly trained assassin for Section One."

Love the pic. I tried some pics yesterday and just don't have the zoom capability with my current camera. The little black chickadees will let me get fairly close, but the other birds are still too skittish to get a good close up.
A certain snobbish segment of the population looks down on the Olive Garden, but I've always had pretty good meals there too, and like you said, at reasonable prices. I've been to some fancier Italian places that were all style and no substance. I'll take Olive Garden over that any day.
The only objection I had to my meal was the thick pasta. I prefer the really thin pastas like Capellini. It's a very mild objection, though.
