Hurricane Isaac Aftermath - August 30, 2012
Isaac seems to be done here at CrabAppleLane. We still have some lingering but light wind and rain, the yard is a mess, two windows leaked again, and we have the issue you see in the two images above. That's our power line in the photos. We still have power but I'm going to try to remove that big branch today. I hope we'll be able to pull it or push it to the ground and then deal with it there. We have another cable on the ground but I think that one belongs to the cable company whose internet service we no longer use. We were lucky.

I humbly recommend that you do what I would do in that situation: Call "the guy."
Glad to hear things are finally calming down. The mess and the leaks are no fun, but it could have been worse.
Starting to think that now, myself, Dave. Can't get through to the guy right now. The recording says he's busy. Not sure what his problem is. The windows are fine until the next sideways rain condition and the yard is nothing. Not sure how much rain Isaac dumped on us but I'm guessing it's in the 18-25 inches range. I have a lot of water in the yard. Most definitely could have been worse.
Glad its mostly over for you guys!
"Not sure what his problem is."
Heh. Well, however long the wait, it won't be a lifetime.
I may have jumped the gun on that, Allie. The wind and rain are picking up and we're still under a tornado watch. Crossing fingers again here.
No, it won't be. Those guys are rock stars in my book. They come out at all hours in all conditions and, usually, pretty quickly.
Just got word from Washington-St Tammany Co-Op not five minutes after I emailed them. Their crews are all out but she was going to make a note for any crew in the area to come take a look at it. Can't ask for more than that.
Thank You WST
They really have come out in some iffy conditions, and I am always SO grateful.
They'll probably be out today. If they want to back up into the yard, let them. :)
Glad the damage you received was fairly minimal. Far better than the poor folks down in Slidell and further southeast - what a mess that is. Still got a lot of hurricane season left, but hopefully, September will follow true to form and move all the action out more the Atlantic way. Stay safe!
We're definitely thankful, GWS. Lots of people have it much worse than us. My brother-in-law's business still doesn't have power this morning. To give you an idea of what it's like to be without power (Air conditioning) in southeast Louisiana, I was outside last night for maybe two minutes. When I came in, I was dripping wet. It's 95 degrees with 100% humidity. It's disgusting. Bad memories of Katrina all over again.
