I've written about Wallander here before. Most fictional detectives are quirky or ingenious. Wallander's most noticeable trait is sadness. In a therapy session, he tells his wife and therapist that, "I don't think you can do what I do and not end up like me.". Probably true. He gets the saddest and most disturbing cases. Wallander is hard to watch because it is so bleak but it's hard not to feel for him. I have to watch. If there was ever anyone who deserved a break ...
Today's QOTD is from Nostalgia by Emily Barker and The Red Clay Halo. It's the Wallander theme music. Lovely.
The Saints stumbled again today. The defense is bearing the brunt of the criticism and they should. RGIII gave them problems last week running a version of a college option offense. Cam Newton is a bigger, stronger, faster, and more experienced version of RGIII. I'm very disappointed the defense wasn't better-prepared for that kind of offense. They had to know it was coming. The defense isn't the only problem, though. The offense isn't finishing drives and is being much too generous with the ball. The offense and defense both have a serious case of the drops. The Saints are not making plays and, mostly, that's the difference between a good team and a bad one. This is not a very good team right now. Everything is correctable, though. No need to panic ... yet.

Blog of the day is here.
Quote from said blog: "It is simply lovely then, that after multiple deaths, despair and desolate mist shrouded vistas that the most memorable image of the episode was Kurt's face as he looked at his unborn grandchild's image when he joins Linda for her first scan."

How much of the Saints trouble can be chalked up to adjusting to Sean Payton being gone?
I would guess some. He's an excellent motivator and he makes fantastic in-game adjustments. That said, these were both winnable games. Turnovers from the offense killed them in both games. The defense figured to struggle at first. They're learning a lot of new stuff. Everyone from the coaches to the players to the fans is uneasy at the moment. Things like this can snowball.
