February 2004 Archives
I don't know if there's a heaven but I just returned from Gateway Hell. It started out simple enough. My browser wouldn't work. Several phonecalls to the Gateway Techs later everything I'd laboriously saved was gone! "Yea we're gonna put this nifty little patch in and fix everything for you" was the last thing I remember them saying. The next thing I hear is "Your computer has crashed there's nothing we can do." Then when I'd resigned myself to the reality that I lost it all I find out that when we bought this computer they left out a little thing called an application CD. Gateway told me "Jeez that's to bad. If you had dicovered that it was missing within 90 days of the purchase date we would have replaced it." My bro-in-law Rob once told me the squeaky wheel always gets the grease. I started squeaking real loud. Fingernails on the chalkboard loud. They finally caved and agreed to reinstall everything at their Metairie store. I guess the Christian thing would be to feel grateful but I can't get past contempt and indignation.
Just got back from the mighty Sea Lion where we started a three-riser installation from the top down. We put the splash zone pieces in the clamps and hung the next six on horizontals with nylon straps and snuck out under the cover of darkness. Small wonder the stock is at $5 and holding. I apologize to all my fellow stockholders.
We just flanged up day three of grandchildren sitting. I don't remember kids being this tiring. Must be like childbirth, you only remember the good parts. Like conception. Well it was good for me anyway.
Well it's late and I gotta get up early to make pancakes, wipe the baby's ass and get to church. The Church of the Holy Yacht Club.

Greetings K,
Wahoo a new site to dredge up old stories...so, go ahead, I know you've got some and you know I forgot to pay much attention to detail over the years...I always rely on the embellishment of strangers...more later.
Hey Kevin,
Happy Birthday. I guess you haven't quite made to the half century mark like some of us; but the days are closing in fast now. I got the message when I got back to Florida that you were heading to UI Thursday. Sorry I missed you. Hopefully we can catch up one of these days. I miss the old days "north 'o' the lake"
Later

Happy Birthday Kevin....been spanked lately?
Best to keep images under 100k in size. Larger images take a long time to load and do strange things to the appearance of the site.
What a great birthday gift. I was surprised that I was surprised. After all I work in one of the major communication systems. Telephone, telegraph, telladiver. I hope all my old friends will use this to check in and let everyone else know you're still sucking wind. I have to go offshore tonight and gag, choke, supervise a job on the mighty Sea Lion so you won't be hearing from me for a few days. I'll be back by the 24th as my grandkids are coming for a visit. That's right, grandkids. Faith and Keirstin. They're bringing their parents, Ryder and Nicole, with them. Also the 13th annual Divers Reunion is coming up on the 14th of March so if you gotta walk, hitch or crawl to get there it's definitely worth a swim-by. My time's up so I'm leaving bottom.

Do the guys still go to Dick's in Bush, LA once a year?
First, Happy Birthday, Kevin!!!
This is Kevin Erickson's brand new blog located on his brand new website. At Katie's request, I helped with the installation and will also help with the maintenance for a time until Kevin feels he's ready to take over sole responsibility for it.
A blog is a "web log". They're everywhere on the internet. Where this one goes is up to Kevin and friends. It is a place for announcements, a place to express yourself, a place to post pictures, a place to do pretty much anything. The theme of the blog and the content of the website are at the sole discretion of the owner of the website.

Some things that can and probably will be done:
1) Link to sites you think are interesting.
2) Upload a picture
