Been There, Done That

Just finished phase 1 of BP's Mardi Gras project. We installed a 20" riser and took the closing spool measurements for a 20" and 28". I got some great video of a 500 lb. grouper that was acting really strange. It had some bizarre colorations and I think it was in the mating mode. It laid over on its side and undulated while staying in place several times in front of some smaller groupers. Never saw anything like it before. We're gearing up for a "Griswalds" vacation. Minnesota, Idaho, Washington and Oregon and all points in between. Hope to see everybody along the way so consider yourselves warned and take appropriate action (i.e. last minute trips out of town). The Triggerfish is from the files of Mr. Ben Begley. I know all you divers and former divers will enjoy it and can justify it to the bunny huggers in your family. DSDE

Kevin,
If you can, give me your route and dates, I don't mind driving a ways to meet you guys for dinner or something. What's 500 miles & a happy meal? What are you driving on the trip?
Kevin,
We are on the other end of Mardi Gras setting mats for the span remediation. Will finish tonight & return to Fourchon and gear up for the closing spool work at the Mad Dog & Holstein spars. Working for BP is a lot of fun. What is up with Dore's press release? Are you moving to Africa? How many folks did he lay off? Gossip please. Just remember that I'll always have a place for you here, mainly because you don't take up much room. Have a nice vacation.
Love,
Tom
Fun? I've had more fun pulling shards of glass out of my eye. Between HRC rescue drills and unconcious diver recoveries we were actually able to get some work done. My guess as to Mr. Bills press release is that bidding has been so tight that profits have been as rare as "you-know-who" calling a flange tight. Have ya'll had any problems with Jakes hoses kinking? We discovered, quite by accident, that you can actually shut off divers gas by kinking the hose. Not the bundle but a single run of the hose. I was under the impression that there was some regulation that said breathing hose had to be stout enough that it was impossible to shut off the flow of gas by kinking it. Africa is not an option. I don't know how much fat he trimmed but I know there was a lot to select from. He combined OCD with Coastal which was redundant with office pukes (a smokerism). Mexico looks like the cash cow this year. We just sent the mighty Hercules down and the not-so-mighty Pie O Neer is rumoured to be next. The Titan is already there along with whatever else we have left down there. I'll probably hang around up here and pick up the crumbs like I have the last few years. But never say never. I could end up in Mexico putting a muzzle on Russell. A daunting task in anybodys book! They've left him alone down there for the last five or six years and the results are frightening. I'll be catching walleye with Mohawk on the 28th & 29th of this month on Mille Lacs Lake in MN and fishing for salmon off the coast of OR on the 12th & 13th of July. Hope to see Max while I'm there. Glad to hear from ya. Don't wait so long next time. DSDE
