I had as much fun the day before and the day after the big event as I did at the bonfire. Went out Sunday to clean up and that's just what we did. We cleaned up the oysters, sausage, chips, beer.........

An enterprising young tender found this really cool thing while burying a pipeline on a job off the coast of Israel. You can see where he tied it off to the jet nozzle. Turned out to be an unexploded mortar round. Gives new meaning to the term "explosive decompression"!
This site owes its existence to my brother-in-law Rob, pictured here with my two favorite girls (Rob's in the middle). No matter how many times I call him with my redundant questions on how to do, what must be to him the simplest tasks, he always walks me through it without making me feel like a total dweeb. Once again, thanks Rob.

Harry assembled this bonfire last year and never got a chance to spark it up so Feb. 19th it's "Burn Baby Burn"! There'll be no fewer than 6 people celebrating birthdays including Harry. Show up and show your ass. Directions
Business as usual on Mill Lacs Lake aka "The Walleye Factory" at North Star Resort in Mohawk MN.

A funny thing happened to me on the way to my surprise 50th b-day party. I almost didn't make it. First off, it was a total surprise. Well at least until they wanted to pull me out of sat on the Sea Lion. I wasn't falling for the excuse "you're going to Mexico"! Then, when they told me Katie needs me at home, but it's not an emergency, I kinda had an inkling. The day we got out we were hit with 10 ft. seas so, no crewboat. We woke up the next morning to fog so thick you could cut it with a knife. But thanks to Glenn Hansen, John Donovan, Phil Doyle, the Chevron rep and the tugboat captain really going out of their way I walked in a mere 8 hours late. Thanks to everybody who came especially the hardcores that stayed til the last act. And my biggest thanks to my beautiful, thoughtful, caring, funny soulmate Katie. I love you....

O.K. Is this photo doctored? I would think if it was it would be a better quality.Mad Mule2Mad Mule3

After I posted the first picture my New Mexican source for cool wildlife shots sent me the additional pics and info. Apparently a number of people on mules, accompanied by hounds, were hunting in AZ when they were charged by the cougar. The mule threw its rider and went on the offensive. Someone had the presence of mind to start snapping pictures at some point. They figured the cat was probably after the dogs. I guess the dogs didn't feel they had to reciprocate. A friend of ours raises sheep and adopted a wild burro from the BLM for the express purpose of protecting her flock from predators. Despite my initial skepticism......
