Weather permitting, Janine will be up this way with the kids to get a real live view of Mars at about 10PM or so. It is wet and overcast right now but that does not totally eliminate the possibility of a clear sky tonight. I think I’m rested up enough for it and I would like to get a better and longer glimpse of it, myself. Fingers are crossed for good conditions. I’ll put the telescope outside in a few hours so it will be acclimated to the outside temperature.

Bobette and Mark are coming over right now to fix us a shrimp pasta dish.

How fun! I would like to see Mars through a telescope. I think we're going to go to the Kenner planetarium one night this week.

Janine couldn't make it but Bobette, Mark, Patsy, and I brought the telescope out to the end of my driveway and Mars was in perfect view. Much better this time although I was still fighting dew and this time, a newly wobbly tripod. Maybe the ground cushions shock and wind better than the concrete driveway. Anyway, it looked great despite my troubles.

As for the planetarium, the time to go was one night last week. I think there are still a few good days left, though.

Aaron spent the night in Bush with friends that have a telescope. When I called that night, he wasn't interested in getting picked up. Julia and her friend didn't care to go, and I didn't get that nap. Still, I feel like I missed something. Now, I read that I did. Shoot.
