This blog is one of my new faves.
Brother-in-law, Kevin, at JazzFest in 1993. That's his friend, Terry, with him.
Louisiana's State Bird, The Pelican. I see these every day on both of my commutes. They are a joy to watch. They dive straight down to get their fish. It is an awesome sight.
Today's CrabAppleLane Blog entry. That one is closing in on its one-year blogiversary.

Michael met Stevie Ray Vaughn when he was a bartender at the Cookery in the Quarter. He got an autographed CD. On one of the songs, there is a preamble he gives about the last job he ever did before he decided that was it and he was forever going to play rock'n'roll. It is so cool to hear his story. When Michael pops that CD into the Disk player, it means he is letting his hair down. A rare and exciting event.
I have neglected to tell you how much I enjoy your one year old blog, Robbie. Who knew you were such a prolific, literate writer? I love your blogs. Thanks for starting this one.
I loved the book "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. I wish someone would read that and discuss it with me. My book club's read this last time was one I couldn't get into, but you might find it interesting. It is a "boy" book, I think, but the book club president (a woman) loved it. It is "In the Heart of the Sea" which is about the true accounting of the happenings that Herman Melville wrote about in "Moby Dick". I didn't know that it was a true story and I couldn't get interested even if it involved cannibalism.
