Just so you know ... once again

Today I had a small mole removed from the crown of my head. It was quite easy, much quicker than they had suggested, and it turned out they were able to remove all cancer cells. I can't bend over and I can't wash my hair but otherwise I'm good as new. There was a square of hair removed so they could see what they were doing, but I've developed a certain expertise in covering up a rambunctious cowlick, so I think I'll manage to keep this covered as well. In two weeks, I'll return to have the eight (!) stitches removed and after promising to stay out of the sun, I'll be finished with these particular doctors.

That's great news, Mom. See you tomorrow. Heard from Katie girl?

Aunt Ginnie, I'm glad you were able to get it taken care of. Didn't know you had problems with moles etc. Is it the first time? Us fair skinned people have to be careful and I'm sure I'm not the only one who forgets a hat at times. Hope it doesn't cause you too much discomfort. Carol

Thank you, Carol. Yes, I've had moles removed but never one that said "basil cell carcinoma." The dermatologist removed this one back in August and I think she probably got it all. This procedure today was just making sure that it was all gone. It wasn't a bad ordeal, and they told me it wouldn't be, but it looks like I've just come from the Indian wars. I'm going to lunch tomorrow and I bought a hat the other day so as not to offend anyone. Thanks for your good wishes.

I hope that you have a very speedy recovery! Get well soon!

You will have your rowdy hair back in no time to cover that spot. And the person who gets procedures gets a treat. Do you have something in mind? See you and your head Saturday evening, Mom. Bring your pictures.

See you soon, Mom. We'll talk about that treat Janine mentions.

Aunt Ginnie: am confident you'll get good reports. It is a little nerve racking to have the doctor say it looks like skin cancer. John has had several(3,I think) spots removed from his neck and temple and under an eye that were skin cancer. I'm sure all a result from all the time spent in the fields and hunting etc DESPITE always wearing a hat(he can't go anywhere without one!). So, everyone, just be sure to check your skin periodically and use lots of sunscreen(I didn't learn this until I was old and starting to gray). Have fun on Saturday.

Aunt Ginnie, I hope you have a speedy recovery.
Nancy - where have you gone gray?
