I am not sure I should be saying this, but I guess I will. It all started along time ago when I had an itch on my leg. I scratched and scratched until it bled ( I was asleep at the time). Anyway, I developed a leg ulcer and it got infected. The docs sent me to a wound clinic at the hospital and I was refered to an infectious disease doc who had me get a picc line inserted so I can start IV home therapy. I had that done today! My boss won't let me work, with this in me so it looks like an unexpected vacation. I know that it sounds like I am ranting Sorry. I will keep you informed as to my progress.

Sorry to hear that, Beth. Keep us posted.

I have a friend, and we also have Donna visiting us lately, that are hard-to-heal wound nurses. I know there is a more professional name for that. Does that mean you have a staph infection, Beth? I am very sorry to hear about that. Is that a paid vacation? I hope so for your sake. I can recommend some books from the library. I still wish somebody would read "The Life of Pi", "The Year of Wonders", and/or "The Discovery of Chocolate" and discuss those with me.

I wish you a swift recovery, Beth.

NO my "vacation" is a medical leave of absence without pay. I"m not sure that it's a staph infection or not. The wound clinic has specialized nurse that treat hard to heal wounds such as ulcers like mine! Thanks for your best wishes for my speedy recovery!

Beth - I'm sorry you're having trouble abd hope it all heals swiftly. I had a pic line last year when I developed a staph infection after my hernia surgery. I was afraid to have it inserted and then I was even more afraid to have it removed, and yet, neither time did it hurt. I will say some prayers that everything heals fast and you're back on your feet in no time.

I hate when that happens. I read and re-read what I had written and it looked perfect to me. Then as soon as it was published for everyone to see, I noticed "abd." I guess nobody will believe me when I say I'm actually an excellent speller. (And I also know that Robbie is going to tell me that's why he does his writing first in word processing so that no on will ever see "abd" in any of his entries.)

I don't use a word processor. I just tell people that so they won't know I'm perfect. :)

Beth, I'd love to hear about your wound. If you would, or want to, e-mail me about it. Not everybody likes to hear the details about wound description, like I do. I work for a wound supply company, so if you have to do wound care on yourself, I might be able to help you with the supplies, unless you're getting home health for your IV treatment. If I can help, let me know. My e-mail is: cnlee123@charter.net

Beth, sorry you've got that infection to worry about. I know it's no fun. I wish you a quick recovery!
