What a wonderful day it was! Scott and Elizabeth have the best parties!! The egg hunt was absolutely great! You guys are so generous! Amy found an egg and thougt it was an empty one and was about to put it back, but I told her to open to see first and when she did she gave a whoop of delight because inside was a $5 bill! Thank you for making it a special day for all of us!
That was a fun day. We ended it by passing Samuel around, each of the little people got a turn, and watching "Jesus Christ, Superstar."
I brought Mary Catherine home with us. She is a great overnight guest. She and Julia are making pancakes now. Later, we will pick up Joe and Jackson and go see "Robots." I'll let you know how I rate it.
Could those kids get any cuter?! What fun for all of you to have an egg hunt together! We had a beautiful day here in MN, weather was wonderful in the low 50's. We went to Dan's mom/dad's and got to hold our nephews' 2 month old (premie) daughter, Avery. Almost (I said almost) makes a person want another one. I think we'll just borrow her once in a while :). Carol
I like the name "Avery". Yes, I agree with you on the borrowing idea. Now that I am not in the throes of mothering an infant, I can say that I felt very sorry for myself at the end of the day when I was bone-weary from tending to the baby, and then a baby and a toddler. It was so hard. Angela doesn't want to hear that. (Most people handle it more gracefully than I, Angela. You are not a nervine like me. Plus, you have those wonderful in-laws that probably can't get enough. Take advantage of that.)
We love these little people. The bigger young folk got their turn at finding eggs too. There were two hunts. We will always have young people to do that for. They keep their candy and money and turn in the eggs at the end of the day - for next years egg hunt. Elizabeth does a stupendous job of stuffing them. Everyone gets a prize too.
