Joey and I would like to introduce you all to

Samuel Joseph Hunter

6 lbs. 5 oz.
18 in.

I hope nobody has any problems seeing the pictures. I'm not too good at resizing them.

We're home now and doing great. Samuel and I are both getting the hang of breastfeeding and our second night together went much better. He will remain on his Apnea monitor for the next 8 weeks, which is a hassle, but necessary. He is the most precious thing ever! I'm receiving lots of help from my family and Joey's family.

Joey and I gave Samuel his first bath last night. It went pretty well, except that Joey was really worried about him being too cold and would breathe hot air on him occasionally. Samuel didn't mind his potato soup breath. I'm feeling much better, except for my carpal tunnel which doesn't seem to want to go away.

Thank you all for the warm cards and well wishes we've been receiving. Please keep Samuel in your prayers as he outgrows his sleep apnea.

Love,
Angela

He looks great Angela, a very beautiful boy. I love the room too.

Angela,
Did you have to post the pictures of Samuel with the boys? Joe Joe said, "No fair!" I am now planning a trip to see you either tomorrow or Saturday with all or some of my people and a camera.

Those are not the pictures that I planned to send. I don't know what happened! I had pics in another folder that included some great shots of Joey and the baby and me at the hospital. Those shots of Christina and the boys were not supposed to be in there. Neither was that hideous picture of me in the car! That was taken at 8 am on the day we were leaving the hospital. We were trying to get out fast because Joey had to get to work and so we didn't shower until we got home. Now I've showered and you ought to see me!

I loved the picture of you in the car. You look so beautiful; your smile says it all. I did wonder why you had a bunch of pictures of Samuel and the sign. I thought maybe you were trying to capture more of his highlights. The back of his head has one at the bottom that is strikingly blond. He is so adorable. Gina Ohler looked at my photo album once and made fun of me and the pictures with the signs of Julia or Aaron's age in weeks or months, and then she came to the ones I took of you and Christina with a sign of your age - 23, I think - and bust out laughing. Glad I could provide some cheer. Your comment about Joey's blowing warm air on the baby was so funny. By the end of Aaron's first bath, we were both crying, Aaron and I - Michael was fussing "that doesn't help anything" - and the baby was still soapy. You and Joey are holding up very well under the pressure a newborn brings to the mix.

p.s. Julia had practially the same comment as Joe when she saw the pictures of Christina and the boys holding the baby. Michael and Aaron want to meet him too. They have been saying that because I was mainly thinking of Julia who has been envious of my two visits and the impending day I will spend with y'all. We will probably see you Sunday morning, around 10:30, if that's okay. I have to be at the theater for 1:00, so it will be short and sweet.

Na-na-na-na-na!!! I guess that's what you get for moving to the northsore!! They got to see him last night too. The boys were so excited in the car on the way to the hospital to see Samuel. Jacob asked if the baby would be sweet. I said of course and he said "He's not going to bite?" He also inquired if he could play with the baby when he got there.

The boys are so excited that Neenie's baby is finally here and they are also very excited that it's a boy.

Great pictures! I would love to smell that baby with the just-had-a-bath smell, without the potato soup of course! Slippery little buggers aren't they! Glad to hear you're all home. ;o)

What a great looking kid! Did you notice the grip of those hands? Looks like a fishing pole and shotgun would be a natural extension.

HE IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!! I WANT TO HOLD HIM!!!!

Congratulations Angela and Joey.

P.S. - Angela, Samuel's room came out beautiful - I love it.

Kevin, I think you're right. I guess it will be a fishing pole for his first birthday and a 10-gauge for his second birthday. Scott C., Christina, my brother and my friend have already outfitted him with real-tree camo bibs, hats, onesies, and pajamas. I can't wait to get him out in the field for his first duck or deer hunt with me next season.

Angela, I hope we didn't tire you out or make you too nervous today when we descended upon you en masse. My people were thrilled with the precious bambino. I think I got a lot of cute pictures and if I was more saavy, I would post them for all the world to see. He is just so sweet! I still do not envy your lack of sleep and I am absolutely not pining for a new infant. I used to always feel the need for a new baby after holding a newborn, but I guess I am officially done. (Unless, we adopt an older child after Polina outgrows her "busy" ways!)

Congratulations Joey and Angela. What a beautiful little boy. Aminah says he's such a pretty baby and she thinks his hair is soooooooo cool. I am glad to hear that things are going well. God willing, Samuel will grow up to be a very fine young man, providing you with countless hours of special milestones and memories.
