Mom's brother, our Uncle Bob passed away on Thursday. I think he was also Beth's Godfather. I made a few phonecalls for Mom on Friday and said I'd post the obituary when I found it. The burial at Ft. Snelling National Cemetary will not be until May, I spoke with my cousin Kathy last night. I got the obituary online from the Fairfield, CA newspaper just prior to my newspaper showing up this morning; it's in the Mpls. paper today. Mom won't be able to go to California and is going to wait for the May services here.

Very sorry to hear your news, Laura.
I'm very sorry for your loss, Laura. Is that Aunt Pat's only sibling?
Yes, he was. He was born 1/7/30 and Mom was 1/25/31, so just 12 months older.
I always found it interesting that Uncle Bob and Aunt Janet had 4 kids whose gender and age is very close to the 4 of us. Beth and Susie are a couple weeks apart in age, Mike & Gary are about 3 months apart, Kathy and I are a month apart and Joan and Nancy are the farthest apart at 5 months. Cool.
Mom's ears cannot handle flying but she would have gone if Tuesday were the only service. There will be a memorial service and burial here in May.
Laura,
I am sorry to hear about your uncle. It's too bad y'all live so far apart. When I was younger, I really wanted to move away from Louisiana, but I am so pleased I didn't. Scott's Mama has been sick off and on with cancer. While she was going through treatment, he felt really bad that he wasn't able to help out. When my daddy was ill, it was especially hard on Sue being in Atlanta. It's nice that there will be a memorial that your mama can go to in May.
My condolences to your Mom and your whole family. That is something about their parallel lives of having children the same ages. Did y'all maintain close contact with them all?
