Patsy and I are headed to French Quarter Fest in about an hour. Muriel's Crawfish and Goat Cheese Crepes ( On the menu today for $4 in Jackson Square ) are calling out to us. Update: It was delicious although the portion seemed a little smaller this time.

St Louis Cathedral in mourning for Pope John Paul II. Black wreath over the door.

This had to be the smallest shop I have ever been in. It's right off of Pirate's Alley.

I'm going tomorrow. I can't wait. I'll look up those crepes, they sound good.
Did they hand out the recipe with the tiny little bowl of food? I don't know if I've ever had goat cheese and I wonder if I'd like it. The sound of it turns me off a little bit, but I try to rise above that sort of thing.
Uncle Raymond had three nanny goats because of his poor health. He had mustard gas lungs from WWI and then developed TB. Anyhow, his goats were in LOOOOVE with him and baaaa'd every time he opened the door. He decided to build a strong high wooden fence to give himself some privacy from their watchfulness. The first time he walked out the door after the fence went up, he heard the plaintive baaaaa and wondered how they knew? Then he saw the eye. There was a knothole high up in the wood and they found it. The fact that one had to stand on another didn't deter them at all. Love will always find a way.
Feta cheese is a fairly commonly used goat cheese although I don't think they use it in this recipe.
The crepes were absolutely delicious. I went with three friends and told them we had to try them because they sounded so good. All four of us loved them and they told me to tell my brother thanks for the suggestion!
I stood ten feet from Jude Law yesterday! He was watching his kids get their faces painted. He's every bit as gorgeous in person as he is on the screen. We think his girlfriend, Sienna Miller, was with him along with another blonde girl who may have been the nanny. No one was bothering him, although lots of people crowded around to "watch the face painting." It's always thrilling to see a celebrity up close. He's been in town filming All the King's Men, I suppose. I think they started filming that last November - long production.
I held the door for Rod Steward & Rachel Hunter years ago when I worked at Lakeside Theaters. That same year I got to see Tom Cruise at the theater as well.
I know this is a little off topic, but I have a social studies project to do on my family history and I was wandering if anybody knew the places our family (Ferrara/Tompkins) have lived. Any information would be helpful!!
Your mom did a lot of that research many years ago, Mary Catherine. I think she's the one to ask.
Mary Catherine: I recall my mom telling me that Uncle Pat Tompkins and Aunt Mary Ann went on a trip to Ireland and investigated long lost relatives and their original cities of birth. Perhaps one of their kids could help(PJ,Margaret,Molly,Katie etc.).I don't have the details, sorry.
