Michael and I liked "Sideways". It won't go down as an all-time favorite, but it did make me laugh a few times. It was a well-told story and had the action-adventure, romantic-comedy I have been craving. There was one interesting and brief car chase with the chaser being on foot.
I like nice wines too. Last night, we dined at Copeland's where I had two glasses of Kendall Jackson Sauvignon Blanc; one before and one during my seafood and linguini dinner. I could have done better with seasoning that dish, but the wine was delicious. I kind of related to Giammetti's character's passion for wine in "Sideways". I forget who was up for an oscar for that.

I liked it and there were a few laughs but some of it was truly painful to watch. The golf scene was a lot of fun. I think his passion for wine was a cover for his alcoholism. He was pathetic, but somehow likeable, for most of the movie. He wasn’t nominated, though. The other guy was as a supporting actor.
Joey and I found it mildly entertaining and laughed at parts. We now like to tease each other and others about drinking merlot. I liked the part when the "Wings" guy(forgot his name)was telling Paul Giamatti not to go to the dark side and talk about his ex when he was getting drunk.
I watched half of it again yesterday before re-winding and taking it back. The guy we couldn't name before is Thomas Haden Church. He was good in that. One can only wonder what the character, Maya, saw in Giamotti's character. And two glasses of wine made me swoozy while they just had glass after glass in that scene at dinner and then went to that girl's house and were looking for another bottle. I don't drink red wines. I like whites - dry and fruity with a hint of wood.
Really Janine. Dry and fruity with a hint of wood??? Pat and I watched the movie, each for the second time, and sadly, because it really is an immoral movie about amoral people, I laughed at a whole lot of scenes. I thought Giammotti was great and should have been nominated insead of the other fellow.
