Now, don't get mad at me, Barbara. I wanted to show the bloggers our good family friend who is always there sharing life's precious moments with us. (Everyone, Barbara and Sue have been friends since grade school. Which grade?) I am so appreciative of your helping my sister and her family with the rehearsal dinner. You are a treasured friend. It was so nice to see you in Georgia. This picture of you and Samuel was the very first picture taken from my new camera.

One of those girls can confirm it but I think they go back to Mrs Michon in the first grade. Did I spell Michon correctly? That would have to be at least 15 years ago, don't ya think?
I think Barbara came later to OLPH, but I wouldn't swear to it. However many years it is, it is true that she has been a tried and true friend. One of the very best a person could have. I salute you, Barbara, for helping out so generously and with such good spirit and love in your heart.
I enjoyed visiting with you.
I'm pretty sure Barbara and I became friends in Sister Gregory's 5th grade class. We were in class together in 6th, 7th and 8th, also. I don't think we ever had a class together in high school and we went to different colleges. We have remained close friends throughout the years, though. She visited me once in England, twice in Denver and several times in Georgia. She treats my children like favorite nieces and nephews. They have a very special place in their hearts for her. She watched Dumbo with Stephen at least three times a day the first time she visited me in Denver. She says she will never get over that! Brianne and Bunk love having her around and Patrick thinks she's his personal "Pass the Pig" game playing partner. She is a great friend!
WOW - What a way to start off a Monday morning!!! Thank you so much for all the kind words!!!! I enjoyed the entire Ferrara Family growing up and it is truly very special to still have such wonderful friends and to be able to share special times with all of you. I went to OLPH in 2nd grade and I think Sue and I had the same teachers from 2nd grade to 8th grade. I don't actually remember exactly what grade we became friends but I'm glad we did. What a special friend she has always been to me. And, yes, I absolutely adore her children. And, thanks to everyone for letting me share the Family Blog!
Janine,
I was hoping that you did delete the picture you took of me but I'm not upset that you posted it. How could I be with all the nice comments that were made. Isn't Samuel just the cutest thing trying to put both hands in his mouth!!!
Barbara, my download takes so long. I will copy them to diskette and mail them to you. My pictures are not so clear as the ones that Sue recently sent, plus not as many shots of the bride and groom and their wedding party at all. I only got to the Kodak gallery once. I may put them all there too. My brother-in-law in Michigan wants me to use that too. I wil have to try.
How is your Mother? Tell her I say "hey."
Janine,
You don't have to go to all that trouble but thanks anyway. I have been sending the pictures Sue sent to her so she has been able to see a lot of pictures. Sending a disk won't be necessary but thanks. My Mom is doing well. She got another clean bill of health on her last doctors appointment a couple of months ago so we are all very thankful. I will tell her you said Hi. She has been enjoying seeing all of the pictures of the entire family because she hasn't seen any of you in quite a long time.
Okay, I won't send you a disk. That is so nice that your Mom is interested in seeing the pics. I am glad to hear of her clean bill of health. I would love to visit with her. Tell her if she is ever in Mandeville to come have tea with me.
Yes, Robbie, that is how you spell Michon. (pron. Me-shawn) She was my first grade teacher and the best a girl could have had. The alternative was Mrs. Gilardi who was free-wheeling with the slaps.
I didn't mind Mrs Gilardi that much. Her daughter is somehow related to one of my work colleagues.
I don't remember Mrs. Michon but I do remember Mrs. Gilardi. I remember that she was a teacher to be feared - of course I was afraid of all of them at that time. Wouldn't they be surprised as to how I turned out. Even though I hated my first grade teacher at St. Charles Boromeo, I was very thankful to not have had Mrs. Gilardi along with several other teachers that I feared at OLPH. Unfortunately I was unable to escape Sr. Catherine!!!!!!
I have to ask, Where are you from?. I was doing a search on Kennons in England and came across your webpage.
My husband and I live in Canada and have done alot of research on Kennons in England and Australia. We are always looking for more of our family tree.
Bye for now.
