Happy Birthday, Nancy

Happy Birthday, Nancy

Yes, Nancy, my godchild, Happy Birthday. You had a perfect head when you were born. It was a marvel that everyone commented on: look at her little round head. And a very pretty face as well. Aunt Mary Pewters couldn't get enough of you one day when my mother was taking care of you. You were five months old, and my mother propped you up in the corner of the sofa with a pillow holding you in place. Now you know, this was the day long before all the stylish things for babies were available and a pillow and a sofa was a good place for a little girl. Aunt Mary just sat in a chair and looked at you and every now and then you'd smile so sweetly at her and she would clap her hands and ohhhh and ahhhh over the precious baby. My mother always thought it was so sad that she never had any of her own. So happy day to you.

Happy Belated Birthday Nancy,

Sorry it's late. We were camping up north. Had to cut our trip short 'cause the horse flies were so aweful.

Hope you had a wonderful day and that you were showered with love from all those around you!!!

Happy Birthday, Nancy! And many more..

Thank you everyone for all the wishes. Kind of an uneventful day as everyone else in the family had to go to work! Aunt Ginnie--how is it that Grandma was babysitting for me? Was Gary there too?? I do remember Aunt Mary Pewters from other get-togethers as I was growing up. Thanks for all the memories.

Nancy, I hope you had a great birthday!

Happy Birthday, Nancy. Have a great year! I know what that "everybody's working" is like. We went to the lake on the 4th of July hoping to have our usual big fun and it was just my new little family there - me, Scott and Patrick.

Who is Aunt Mary Pewters? Did I know her?

Grandpa's sister. Married to Joe Pewters. Lived in St. Paul. One time we all went over to her house. Aunt Dudy worked next door and came to see everyone. I think that might have been the only time you saw her, but you would have been pretty young.

Or Mom.

Must have been. I don't remember Aunt Dudy, either.

I hope you still had some cake, Nancy. Or a nice birthday meal, a manicure, a new outfit, a celebration of some sort. Happy belated birthday wishes to you.
