Carol asked me to post these pictures. Ashley and Nicole are at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival in Shakopee, MN
Ashley's passion is designing costumes of that era. The dresses the girls are wearing were designed and made by Ashley. Beautiful, beautiful work Ashley!!!

Gorgeous costumes. Where did she learn to design and sew? Carol, do you sew too? I know your Mom does, or used to anyway. My mother could sew but I don't think she really liked to. I sewed in high school and a little bit afterwards but I also didn't really like it. Such pretty girls, too, to show off the pretty dresses.
First, Thank you sooo much Punky (aka Janice) for posting the photos. I seem to have trouble doing that every time. I know your schedule is crazy and I REALLY appreciate it. Aunt Ginnie, I think Ashley acquired some recessive genes.:) I know how to sew but don't enjoy it. Ashley loves the final creation but I think she gets frustrated with the process sometimes. Both girls love that era and had so much fun at the Renaissance Festival. She's already thinking about next year.
oh, just to clarify, Ashley didn't design these. She used a pattern, but did a great job nonetheless.
Very impressive! I can't sew at all. I did take a class in high school, but can't remember any of it. I think it's very good to know how to sew, even if you only use it to make Halloween costumes in the future. Joey does the sewing in our house. He dabbles with it at work when their seamstresses aren't there.
Nice work, Ashley & Nicole!
I'm glad you enjoy the Renaissance Festival - I don't have to attend since you're there taking my place! I think Grandma Bye would be happy to see the results of your hard work, if you haven't shown her already. Keep up the designing & sewing projects, as it will serve you well for your whole life. I'd do more of it myself, but Pam kicks me out of the sewing room, much like she does to me in the kitchen! Hope to see you sometime soon....

My apology to Ashley- I'm sorry I didn't pay more attention to the fact that it was all your work going into the costumes! Keep up the good work.
Of course, Nicole did a fine job of modeling for you, too!
