Happy Birthday to my mom yesterday....even though she won't see this. She turned 76. I talked to her yesterday and she was having a nice day. She and my dad were trying to decide where to go to dinner to celebrate. Truly, I never thought she'd make it to 76, so each added year is a treasured blessing. Carol

Carol -- I talked to your Mom yesterday and it was the best conversation I'd had with them in years. When I asked why she was hearing me so well, she told me it was her new speaker phone. I had put off calling her in recent months because it took such an effort on her part and on mine, but I told her I'd be calling more often now that it's so much easier. A few times she had to ask your dad, sitting in the background, what I had said, but not very often.
Also, Laura, I talked to your Mom the day before and I have to say I haven't had such a good conversation with her in a long, long time. She was very upbeat it seemed to me, and it made me glad.
So. There you have it. Two excellent phone calls to wish Happy Birthday to two excellent girls.
And I'm an excellent girl as well.
Happy, Happy, Aunt Catherine.
I had also meant to post a Happy Birthday to Mom on the 25th but knowing that she wouldn't see it, I didn't.
I'm having everyone over to my home on Sunday for Beth's 54th birthday and for Mom's 75th. We have two menu choices, Beef Guiness and for those who balk at the ingredients, Joan is also bringing Crockpot Chicken.
Fyi, my almost 93 year old father-in-law refers to my Mom as a youngster!
Happy Birthday to both Aunt Pat and Aunt Catherine. I think it would be a lot of fun to hear both of their birth stories. Anyone know that information?
Robbie - would you do me a favor and delete the first message above? The second one is the one I want the public to see. Thank you.
Robbie - my computer locked up and I left it for about ten hours. When I came back to it, my message was still sitting there so I hit "post" again just to see if it had finished sulking, and okay, there it is. However, you had already gone in there and deleted the one I wanted the public to see. Oh well. See if they can spot the mistake I wanted out of there. And thanks for being so vigilant. Also, the one year ago entry where Janine kicked in her door makes for wonderful reading, all you people who are reading this. Go ahead and click on it. You'll laugh and that is such a good feeling.
