Brianne applied to the Teacher Cohort program at her school at the beginning of January. She had an interview with the professors over a month ago. She was told the acceptance letters would be mailed out the first week of March. She has been a little anxious about the results, as there were 110 applicants for 40 slots in the program. She got her acceptance letter yesterday. Her dream since the second grade of becoming an elementary school teacher is beginning to take shape!
Brianne made it!

Congrats, Brianne.
What is the Teacher Cohort program? If she hadn't made it, would she not be able to continue with her education degree? Are they really turning away potential teachers?
Congratulations Brianne. I had no doubt you'd make it!
Congratulations to Brianne! She'll love being a teacher. She has the genes for it!
Congratulations, Brianne, a wonderful teacher-to-be. I had no doubt that you would make it. If I had known that you were anxious about it, I would never have brought up the crayfish vs. crawfish issue.
I had confidence since your Mother told me that you would make the cut, Brianne. You've got that good teacher vibe going for you. Way to go! I am sure you have deoderant.
David C. also wants to be a teacher. He said it's easy to be a teacher; all you need are two things, only one that I remember and it was deoderant.
Congratulations, Brianne. What is a teacher cohort? I have never heard that name before..........sounds kind of negative. Like, you better watch out for that teacher and her cohorts.
Thank you! I was very stressed out about the whole process. We had to turn our applications in by January 15, had them reviewed, and then if we passed their expectations on the application-we were granted an interview. I thought my interview went very well, but that was back on February 1 and I have been waiting it out this whole time. My roommate and I just got our letters in the mail Friday and we were both jumping up and down once we read that we were accepted. It was a lot of fun. We weren't sure if the letter was going to be mailed to my house here or the one in Lawrenceville, and when I told Mama I didn't want her opening it (if it did come there), she told me to ignore the double-sided tape! Luckily it came to me first! I even called her at work to let her know I got in. The COHORT is the two year teaching program that our school provides. It has a reputation of being very time consuming and hard work. It allows us to work with the same group of people for both years and work with one mentor. We also get two years of experience in the class room at all elementary grade levels. I am very excited about it!
Congratulations Brianne!
I am in the last few months of my program and I think that you'll love being in a cohort. Our cohort has become quite close and I have made some friendships that I know I'll have forever!
Have fun and watch out fo rthe workload!
Congratulations Brianne!
As a long time friend of you mom's, I am really excited and happy for you! Sounds like a great program. Again, congratulations!

Hi Brianne,
I decided I would take a few minutes to read the blog since I don't have much time these days in Houston to keep up with your family. CONGRATULATIONS - I am so excited for you. You are going to make a fantastic teacher. Some people are just meant to be teachers and I know you are one of them. My sister, Karla, was a second grade teacher before she became a counselor. She is like you - meant to be a teacher.
