Looks like it's in pretty good shape.
Update (March 4): Storyland wasn't open yesterday while I was there but there was a grounds crew there doing something. Everything looked very colorful like it had recently gotten a fresh coat of paint. Some of the characters were knocked over but it looks like it could open today. Maybe it's only open on weekends. Does anyone know?

I used to love going there and walking through that shoe!
We went through all of it during Celebration in the Oaks back in December. I think it's been open for a while. There's an article in the paper today about the amusement park at City Park.
The paint does look more vivid - like it is fresh. I like that place too. I can't look at it without remembering the couple of times we went when everything was covered with caterpillars.
My favorite was going in the mouth of the whale when the aquarium was in there. I can't remember - was Pinocchio sitting on top of the whale?
Nice pictures, Robbie. Also, the ones on your personal blog are great.
I don't remember Pinocchio on top of the whale but I do remember the aquarium.
I have always loved Storyland. I think I went last year sometime with my people and Christina's boys. The kids always enjoy the puppet shows. I read in the paper, after Katrina, they lost most of their (been there forever doing puppet shows)staff. I am surprised that it is open. Rob, they usually are only open on weekends during the fall and winter. I think they start opening daily after Easter or the start of spring.
Elizabeth,
The last time I actually went inside was March 27, 1977. Someone here might know why I remember the date. Anyway, that was a week day but your theory may still be correct because I don't know when Easter was that year.
Rob, the date is the twins' 4th b-day. Did you take them to the park?
Yes, after the zoo. Wore those little girls out.
