Brianne, Greg, Patrick, Scott and I celebrated my birthday yesterday at Calloway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. It's a two hour drive from home. It has ten miles of paved trails through woods and gardens. It is a beautiful place that has many gardens to walk through. There is also a butterfly house that has butterflies from all over the world in it. I love going there. The place is famous for their huge azaleas and the many varieties of azaleas. Unfortunately most of the azaleas had already bloomed so we missed that spectacular beauty. We rode our bikes on the trails and enjoyed all the sights. We had a picnic lunch and played a round of putt-putt golf. I am bad at putt-putt. Even with Patrick stopping the ball with his foot, some times it took a dozen or so strokes to get the ball in the hole on a Par 2! Scott and Patrick were pretty good. Patrick even got a hole in one twice. We left Calloway at 7:00 PM and then stopped at Everybody's on the way home. It is across the street from Emory University and I love their Greek pizza sandwich. We didn't get home until 11:00 and we were all exhausted. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable day!

Great pics, Sue. Weather must be gorgeous there, too. Patsy and I are going to spend Easter in Bush this year. Our neighbors invited us to their place across the highway and we can ride our bikes there and back.
Ohhhhhh. Sue. Were you or Scott the photographer? Or was it the beautiful Brianne? The pictures are wonderful. I especially loved the butterflies. We will have to get Katie to tell their different names. Or maybe Angela. She's roosting Monarchs right now, but maybe her interest extends to other varieties. I'm glad your birthday was so memorable. I'm sorry I didn't get to wish you a happy day before you left town.
I'm green with envy! I love Calloway Gardens. I wish I could go yearly. Unfortunately, Kevin has never been able to make it when we go. I would love for him to see it, the kids and I love it so!
Okay Mother, the first butterfly looks like a swallotail, but since I couldn't see the bottom of his wings I can't say definately. The Moth however, is 'Rothschildia Jorulla', Rothchild's Saturniid. Located in Arizona and Southern Texas, but more abundantly in Mex. and Central America.
I am so glad you got someone to post those for you, Sue. What a lovely day. It was nice to see y'all - even if it is just in pictures.
