Lake Calhoun and the surrounding area is what I think of whenever I think of Minneapolis.

Just wait a few weeks and recheck the photo. Once we get leaves on the trees and lush green grass it will look so much better.
I remember that water being blue when I saw it as a kid. Kind of brown now. I was also disappointed to see litter in the lake when I was up there for the reunion, too. Still a very nice area, though.
Do they post a different view each day? This one is not the same as the one you had on Monday. This one looks like there's ice -- I wonder when it was taken.
It's a "live" webcam, Mom. I don't know how often they update that picture but I would suspect it's several times per hour.
The photos on the lake is constantly updated. Check back this weekend and you might see blue skies as well.
It's interesting to see spring come in. There is still ice on the lakes and everything is yucky brown. My in-laws arrived from India on Monday. They have never seen this season and they seem a bit taken aback. I have told them to sit back and enjoy every day - in just three days the tulips have started to show themselves! Yahoo spring!!
We had 2 inches of rain last night. Take a look at the picture today. The rain took out the last of the ice. We're back to blue skies and blue lakes. The temps the last 2-3 days has hit 60 although much cooler today at less than 50. Makes a difference on ice-out times. The ice is usually out at our cabin around April 15th. 2 hours to the northwest.
