Jacob, Jackson, Joe
We had a pirate themed skating birthday party for Jackson today. It was a great success. Many of Jackson's friends came dressed in costume. We gave out eye patches and earrings to all the kids. Joe & Polina were so decked out they even had face make up. They looked fantastic. Polina got out on the skating rink all by herself and even entered a race for 4 & 5 year olds! She's got so much gumption! It was really a lot of fun. David, Janine, & Joey all showed off their skating moves. Jackson's actual birthday isn't until Thursday. He'll be 8 years old.
Next up, Jacob's Super Heroes party. His birthday isn't until the end of September but he's been planning it all summer, talking about who he's inviting. When we hatched this plan for Jackson he immediately wanted a super hero party. He wants to be Robin (of the Batman & Robin duo). I asked why not Batman and was told that Robin's costume is cooler, he likes Robin's mask. He has wanted to be Robin since last Halloween. I didn't get him the Robin costume last year. Maybe this year I'll spring for it!

Looks like a good time. Early birthday celebration?
Wonderful picture. They couldn't look any more pleased with themselves.
I don't know what's wrong with my kids. They don't like to costume and are embarrassed when I wear one. I am going to be Super Mom for Jacob's party. She's got to be a superhero, right?
Christina, it was a fantastic party! The children all looked so cute in their pirate costumes.
I think the Superhero party sounds like fun, too. I wonder what Joe would like to be. He has a deep aversion to Spiderman. He has already done Batman and Superman (when he was a baby). Who's left?
He could be one of the X-Men. Wolverine?
