I finagled an invite to David's for barbecue this evening, and then we are going to see fireworks at Heritage Park in Slidell. I am bringing two liters, potato salad, ribs, hotdogs (veggie and also meat-by-product ones), buns, and brownies. I am sure anyone would be welcome to join us. He has a lot of food too. He said he was going to call Raymond and Lisa to come over.
Julia spent the night there, and when I called this morning, she answered the phone, "what?" What? No good morning, Mother? She likes going over there.
Happy belated 4th to all! Especially Happy Birthday to Sarah Bye(Gary's daughter) even tho' I don't think she will see this here. I went to work with John and watched fireworks over the Mississippi/Stone Arch bridge last night---perfect weather for it all.
Nancy - sorry to have missed you in the cites. The kids and I (and even Hyder for one night!) went camping over the 4th at Camden State park. Great camground, beautiful lake and river, but a horribly loud train right next to the campsites.
We saw amazing fireworks at the Stone Arch when they celebrated the new Guthrie Theater a week or so ago. There was one of the firewrorks that looked like a smiley face - very cool.
