We are back

I can't seem to upload any more pictures. I get a server error. I took 161 in all and had intended to share some with you. I'd like to say the vacation was relaxing, but those moments were fleeting. We had a good time, even though meal times were a little hectic. With that many people to please, it was a little chaotic at times, though we all did what we wanted. David had a full blown feast ready for weary travelers when we arrived; red beans and rice, barbecued sausage, hamburgers, and hotdogs. Sue and Scott made homemade fries. Or David did - I don't know.

I needed a few more days to do some more hiking, some tubing, and my favorite vacation activity - putt putt for the fun of it. I did manage to fit in a death-defying ride with Phil. It was a 2-seater ride that went about 60mph, around and around - sky to ground, with the carriage spinning. It was scary, but I knew that it wasn't my time to go yet, so ultimately it was a lot of fun. Phil never stopped laughing throughout. One could tip the operator to prolong the ride, but it was long enough for me. It went forward a dozen or so times, and then backwards at that speed, that many times.

On this day, we went looking for Laurel Falls which wasn't anywhere near where we were. We managed to find the falls the next day. We didn't see any bears along the trail, relief mixed with mild disappointment. There were signs posted that bears were active and there have been attacks and deaths - but have a nice day. Actually, it didn't tell us to have a nice day, it just stated the facts.

I will try to post more pictures another time. We took a group photo which I hope somebody posts. My camera batteries ran out. I want someone to send me a copy of that.
