This past weekend we had our annual picnic at my mom and dad's house. We had great weather, sunny, mild temps and no bugs! Some of us camped in tents & campers and others either stayed in their house or were only there for the day. The kids had fun tubing (Steve brought his boat) and swimming. I think Haytham gets the award for most hours in the water; well behind Allie that is. The two of them were inseparable! It was so funny to see them jumping in the water then running up on the dock to do it all over again. The kids also played a game called Apples to Apples. I'd never seen it before but I guess it's the game to play. The kids also played football, horse shoes and a new game Gary brought up. It's a homemade game made from PVC pipes, golf balls and string. It looke easy, but was kind of tricky. And, of course, there was plenty of food for all. I think it'll take my mom and dad a week to recover from all the commotion! Here are a few pictures from the weekend. Carol

Sounds like Allie will need a week to recuperate, along with the old folks. I only see one picture of a very pretty, movie-style, girl. Yes, girl. I'm glad your weather was good. That counts a lot in measuring the success of an event. Even though a lot of fun can be had during a thunderstorm, sunshine is so much more fun. And now it's over for another year. I love the idea of these once-a-year family gatherings. Tell us who was there. I know Ann O'C. has come sometimes; how about this time? And who else? (I should have said Ann B.)
Nancy is a little (OK, plenty) distorted in this view. If you click on the permalink, you'll see the more appropriate version. I'll try to fix this tonight when I get home. Great pics, Carol.
Ohhhhhhh. I loved these pictures. It just looks perfect. Seven big dogs. Actually six big and one bigger. Who owns that gigantic black lab sitting in front of one of my adorable nephews? Was Haytham the only little one to get in the swim of things? These were just wonderful. Thanks for sendng them along.
Great pictures. So good to hear of your family rendezvous at your folks house. It looks like it was a lot of fun. All those dogs... Wow!!! That's so cool how they all get along like that.
Patrick played Apples to Apples in Colorado when we were there in February. It looked like a lot of fun. I tried to find it at Toys R Us last week. I wanted to buy it for my classroom. Toys R Us didn't have it. The guy told me they carry it around Christmas so I will try and buy it on-line. I have PTA money to spend NOW! I loved the pictures. Did y'all take a group picture? Who is the person standing next to Jeff and the guy in the background in that picture with the four guys playing the game?
Yes, the fellow in the green shirt. I couldn't recognize him either, but I'm thinking it might be Gary???
Great pictures! I can't believe how well all those dogs get along. We never mix our dogs in the Ferrara family. Well, we had to last year in Atlanta when we evacuated and it made me a nervous wreck. Brooke doesn't get along well with other labs and she and Sue's dog, Ray, went at it. Brooke did ok with Phil's boxer, Butch, though.
I guess the pictures fixed themselves, Carol. Looks like a great day. I'll add to the "How'd they do that?" chorus. I've never seen seven dogs getting along so well.
That's Tom Jr in the background. Then from left to right is Jeff, Gary, Dan and Tom Sr.
Carol asked if she could post the group picture of the kids, but my girls don't have their hijabs on so, I had to say no. We'll send some to you individually and then you can pass them around the family.
We had great weather and wonderful company!
We have one of our funnier family moments playing Apples to Apples. I've seen it at Games by James and a few smaller gaming stores where Danny plays in Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments.
Carol, Mike told me they also sell the ladder and rope game at Fleet Farm but they sell out of it as soon as it comes in. I haven't found it yet myself. Always something to shop for. Darn!
Janice had the people correct. The dogs get along for the most part, some are too friendly (if ya know what I mean) and it seems crazy but they do add to the mix. Carol
Aunt Ginnie et al:All of us adult "kids" were there.
Plus Sarah(Gary's),Christina,Erica(Dan's),Tom,Katie(Tom's),Matt,Gretchen(Jeff's),Aminah,Asiyah,Hamzah,Haytham(Janice's),Haley,David,Daniel(Steve's),Nicole(Carol's) and Mitchell,Lee,Nicholas(John's).
We were remiss in NOT taking a picture of us adult kids with mom and dad, I don't know why none of us thought to do that! It was a great weekend.
Great pictures. It looks like everyonehad a great time. It is too bad that y'all didn't take a picture with Aunt Catherine and Uncle Dick and the nine children. Is there ever another time that all of the siblings get together with Aunt Catherine and Uncle Dick...or will it have to wait for another year?
