Such beautiful girls. They seem to look so much alike now that they're older. Do you think so -- or is it my imagination? I wish them a wonderful school year with loads of great memories. I loved each and every one of my high school years and it's what I would wish for everyone.
Danny started 7th grade today. Homework patrol is the right word for him also. Luckily, the school gives the kids "planners" that they are to write down their homework assignments, dates due, etc. We are lost without it. We also have the online "parent portal" which works great as long as the staff update it with their assignments, etc. They all start off great and then something happens during winter break. Must be brain freeze.
Brian started school on August 21st. He's doing his high school senior year at North Hennepin Community College, part of the Post Secondary Education Options. He has enough friends at the high school to keep him informed socially and his best friend also works at the grocery store. He doesn't think he'll miss the day to day stuff at school. I had a blast in high school my senior year and can't imagine not being there daily for it. I want to hear him say he didn't miss it, five years from now.
Who's hair brained idea is it to have picture day on the first day of school. Danny had enough things on his mind without picture day thrown in! Pin number for lunch, new locker number, new locker combination, new gym locker, new gym locker combination, new bus number, turn in the six forms I completed at 9:30 last night. Eeewww!
I wish everyone a great school year! I'm so glad it's not me going back (as a teacher)- don't miss those days at all. I love the peace and serenity of the streets and malls and groceries, etc. when the kids are in school. Of course, the traffic is so bad in the afternoon that I won't leave the house between 3 and 6PM though.
Very pretty girls! I have a high school senior, Carol does and Laura, too. Are there any more in the family?
I agree with you Laura, I wouldn't want to miss being at school for the senior year. Ashley has some friends doing the same thing and I can't help but think they'll regret the social stuff. I agree too that there are so many forms to fill out. Why don't they send them out ahead of time so we don't have the paper crunch right away?! Aunt Ginnie, sometimes the girls look so much alike depending on what they wear. It's funny that both of them decided to wear their glasses and their hair back for the first day. I wonder if they noticed. Carol
What gorgeous girls.
