Jackson started football practice a couple of weeks ago and this week he started practicing with the pads. He is so excited. Phil is even more excited. He had a two and a half hour practice Wednesday night, much to my dismay. Phil assured me, that was a one time thing. He is also on his way to practice this morning. His coaches called an extra practice so they could get ready for their first game on Monday. I haven't seen them practice at all so I'm not sure what to expect on Monday. I hope I don't embarass Jackson or Phil with my maternal behavior.
I'm on my way to my sister's house this morning to help with Luke & Samuel. I haven't gotten to see Samuel with his baby brother so I can't wait! Luke is just so scrumptious. I imagine I'll be playing all day with Samuel. He has a tendency to slap you on the leg to get you to follow him to do what he wants. He's not talking much but he sure does communicate beautifully!

Go Jackson.
This picture brought back so many memories, Robbie, of you. You were seven when you suited up. Kenner provided everything in the way of gear except the shoes. Didn't we have to buy the shoes? I think Christina told me she had to buy all the pads and helmet for Jackson for a pretty hefty price.
He looks so cute in his football suit. Wish him well in his first game for me. I might be able to like football more if it is just little boys playing. I'll have to try to make a game.
Cute photo! How old is Jackson? Seems so young to start but I know that's the way it goes these days. I hope he has fun with the sport/game. Carol
I didn't know Jackson was playing football. He does look cute in his football gear. Are all of his games going to be during the week instead of the weekend? Where does he play?
He does look adorable in his football uniform! Good luck at his first game.
On another note - Patrick was injured in yesterday's soccer game. He got sidetackled. The boy's cleats hit his right ankle coming from the left. He said his ankle bent the other way. Of course, I was talking and did not see it happen! We went to the emergency room. He has a Grade III sprain which means all three ligaments are traumatized and stretched and the joints are loose and unstable. He has a splint on it and has to use crutches. It is still very swollen but the doctor seemed to think he would only need to stay off of it for a week.
Yes, we just got his schedule and all of his games are on Mondays. This playground is extremely disorganized. When I signed him up I was told not to buy equipment, it would be supplied. Last week they told the boys to start coming out suited up. When I asked where the equipment was, I was told to buy it. Of course, it is now late in the season to be buying football gear and all the bargain priced equipment was sold out. Phil came home with a $150 helmet and I freaked out. I called around and found a store that had some bargain helmets left. It was $50. Better, but I'm still annoyed because those jerks didn't tell us earlier. Also, I was told his practices would be on Mondays & Wednesdays for one hour and games on Saturdays. Only once has his practice only lasted an hour and we just got his game schedule - all of his games are on Monday nights. Which brings us to another problem, Jacob has soccer practice on Monday nights at the same time. Luckily my neighbor's son is also playing so he can hitch a ride with them on Mondays. Had I known the games would be on Mondays, I would have chosen for Jacob's practices to be on Tuesdays & Thursdays. The soccer organization is much more organized and we had to commit to which days we wanted to practice when we signed up. I'm done with football!
