Omar is trying to get settled in India. He's bought a guitar and learned how to ride a motorcycle to pass the time until his classes start. He doesn't like the giant cockroaches, mice and rats that roam the streets, but he's trying to adjust. He says the sunsets and warm weather are great.

Very nice pics. Not wild about giant cockroaches, mice, and rats, myself.

Ditto to the creepy crawlies. Great pictures.

great pics! Carol

Nice pics. Love the warm weather... Scared of mice and rats; cockroaches I could do without (not afraid of them) just don't like them!

I have watched enough Animal Planet programs to know that under that beautifully sculpted sand, there are myriads of creatures given free reign. Spiders, lizards, insects, AND snakes. What did the safari show him? It would be so nice if he would use this family blog to tell us what he's seeing over there.

Would someone go in there and place an "e" in Plant? I knew how to do this myself for one time only, but I have never been able to replicate it. (And I know that suits Robbie fine.)

If you correct your own mistakes, they don't count. That one counts.

Very nice pictures. I wouldn't like the bugs or rodents either but I would mostly be terrified of the cobras! Years ago, I read a short article in a Reader's Digest about a dinner being given in a home in India. A man at the dinner was blathering on about women not being brave or cool headed or something like that. The host of the party (a woman) had a cobra enter the home from the open back door and slither across her foot under the dinner table unbeknownst to anyone. Somehow she knew what it was. I can't remember the rest of the story except something about the woman being smug because she waited until the snake had gone across her foot before doing anything. Not me. Probably Mama, Janine and Katie would have done the same. But not Lizzie or either Doots!

Very good of Omar to learn guitar. He is very handsome with his facial hair. The pictures of the desert and ocean are beautiful. I am pretty sure I'd get squeamish with a cobra, or any snake, slithering across my foot. Oh my. I, too, would love to see more pictures of what Omar is encountering on his adventure. How fun.

The only cobra I ever saw during my three trips to India was the guy at the market place with his flute doing the traditional cobra dance. I saw mice and lots of small cockroaches but never a rat. Omar says they are the size of cats over there. Omar is spending a few days in the mountains before classes start next week. Hopefully he'll send some more pictures. He just got broadband last week, otherwise the computers and internet are extremely slow.
