Omar passed the first of his tests with a score of 936/1000 to become Microsoft certified!

Omar and his money. This is the money he got from relatives on Eid.

A little kitten Omar tried to save. Dogs and cats run wild throughout India.

This is Taj Enclave, the compund where Omar lives.

Neighborhood kids arguing over a cricket game.

Five on a motorcycle. A common sight on the streets in New Delhi.

Congratulations, Omar.
It looks like people were very generous. When you say "tried" to save, did you infer that he wasn't successful? You didn't say when he'd be headed for home. I know you must be counting the days. His score was fantastic, by the way. I almost forgot to mention it.
No the kitty didn't make it. It seems the neighborhood kids don't know or care to take care of animals. So sad! Omar will be home on the 17th of December. He still has quite a few tests to take but if the first test is any indicator of his ability, then he's got nothing to worry about. His plans are to order a whole pizza when he lands in New York, stop at White Castle on his way home from our airport and have potroast the first night home and turkey and stuffing the next night.
Can you tell what he's missing the most?
Congratulations, Omar! What a great experience for him. I can't believe they put 5 people on that motorcycle including that little baby. Oh my goodness!!
congrats to Omar! so what exactly does being Microsoft certifies mean? Is he able to program, repair or install Microsoft applications?
The test he took is the first(Microsoft Certified Professional, MCP) in a series that he'll take to become a MCSE or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer which enables him to work with microsoft systems and as a network administrator. He will also take tests to become CISCO certified, which is working with firewalls and routers. It's pretty much all German to me, but he can do consulting work and make very good money and still attend college. There's nothing like a college degree to fall back on!
Way to go, Omar. I used to write on a list that was started and is moderated by one of the Microsoft developers, Richard Brodie. Go figure - he's a philosopher and poker player.
Sue and Scott, and all their kids, discuss what and where they are going to eat every time they come home for a visit. This visit was no exception. They hit most of the usuals.
