What a handsome boy! There are several fellows in my family who will be full of admiration -- Kevin, Scott Clayton, and Joey, for three. I think those are the only hunters. All I can think of is the number of fights he went through, all for naught! So sad.
Happy Thanksgiving up there. We're pretty cold here, but it is supposed to warm up for Thursday so the little people can run and jump outside. They love to run amuck in Janine's woods.
A one week season? I would love that!!! Ours opened this past weekend and won't close until the end of January. There's a 1 week split in there sometime in December, but for the most part Joey will be gone every weekend until February. And then starts Mardi Gras season at work, and then proms, and then summer weddings... Is it July yet?
Nice buck! Did y'all score it? If so, what's the score and what's the inside spread? I saw a doe this weekend but opted to pass. Been killing a few ducks- I'll post a pic of them. Great to see the younger guys keeping up with the hunting tradition. I already got Samuel a lifetime hunting and fishing license and plan to get Luke one too when his birth certificate comes in.
Deer hunting in MN started about 4 weeks ago. Wisconsin has a similar season. There are different seasons for the various zones and type of hunt whether firearms or bow. Mike got 1 buck for sure, Mom thinks he got two. He hunts near Isle (near Lake Mille Lacs) I'm not much of a fan of venison steaks but do enjoy it ground or in stew. He did say something about inviting me over...
I'm with Angela. A one week season would be wonderful! Scott starts bow hunting the second weekend in September I think. Hunting with firearms opened on October 21st. I think the season ends December 31st - not soon enough. Scott has already gotten two deer BUT not a wall hanger so he MUST continue!
Oh, and Zack is very good looking! How tall is he??
This was a 10pt buck but you can see that several of the tines are broke off due to fighting.
